On-site Proctoring: $4,500 for 3 days* (plus travel expenses)

Proctoring a technologist who has little or no experience in the operating room is essential and, in fact, required in most hospitals. ORIMtec will provide a neurotechnologist on-site for up to three consecutive days. We encourage scheduling as many surgeries as possible during those three days to maximize the proctoring technologist's time.

The proctoring technologist will provide an orientation to the operating room and personnel in which the student will be interacting. Each step of comprehensive monitoring will be reviewed and observed for each case. Discussion with the anesthesiologist includes review of the anesthetic plan. Consultation with the surgeon will cover the surgical plan and possible deviations, so that the neurotechnologist can be prepared for all scenarios.

We highly recommend attending the on-line courses offered by ORIMtec prior to on-site proctoring to gain the most benefit. Things happen fast in the operating room and it can be a hostile environment so it is best to be prepared before entering this arena.

* The 3-day proctoring program must be used in consecutive days. Hours of proctoring are from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

On-line Technical Support: $1250 for 5 hours of support

While gaining experience in monitoring surgical procedures, particularly the more difficult cases, technical support is available. This service is a logical add-on to the on-site support service.

ORIMtec will provide on-line support as needed. A highly-experienced neurotechnologist will be on-line, real-time to provide technical support. The support person will be viewing the data simultaneously as it is generated by the technologist in the operating room. Live communication for trouble shooting and/or advice during a monitoring session is accomplished by chat. Up to five hours of on-line support is provided in any one case or multiple uses billed incrementally in 15 minute blocks. On-line support is initiated at the request of the monitorist.

On-line technical support service is subject to the ability of the requesting neurotechnologist to access the internet from the operating room with his/her monitoring equipment. Internet access may be accomplished through a data port in the operating room or broadband wireless access. ORIMtec strongly suggests the student attend the on-line courses and subscribe to the on-site proctoring service or demonstrate competency prior to subscribing to the on-line courses. Without proper knowledge of the operating room, and surgical procedures, and with minimal monitoring experience, this service will be little of no value.
